Knoppix 5.0.1 Released
The long awaited Knoppix 5.0.1 release is out! This is the first release of Knoppix 5 since the CeBIT 5.0 was released. So far only the DVD ISO is out, but there should also be a CD ISO.

Ubuntu Linux 6.06 LTS Released
The final version of Dapper Drake has been released, and with it comes new LiveCDs for Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Xubuntu. They include GUI hard drive installers on the desktop, and have been named “Desktop” CDs to differentiate themselves from the text installers.

This article from PC Pro has some pretty opinionated ideas about which OS is the best to get work done in, and while I don’t agree with many of them, the author does have some nice things to say about DSL and SLAX.
Kororaa LiveCD GPL Summary
The Kororaa Project has published their findings having to do with the reported GPL violation that resulted from distributing the non-GPL ATI and NVIDIA video drivers with their LiveCD.
In short, this all seems like too much bother for a Live CD. At this stage I will not be releasing the Kororaa Xgl Live CD 0.3, but will continue to make 0.2 available.
Puppy Linux 1.0.9 CE

I found the menus chocked full of applications and utilities. There was a multitude of Puppy specific configuration utilities for just about everything from net connection, wireless, sound, modem, printer, and more.
